Tanager Mapping
Custom Academic Cartography
Services
I make publication-quality maps for academic books, research articles, and industry reports using the latest open-source geographic information systems (GIS). My cartographic work has been published by Nature Food, Indiana University Press, and Rutgers University Press, among others. I also conduct GIS-based spatial analysis to understand underlying patterns and trends in spatial data. I have analyzed spatial trends related to public health research, food security and hunger initiatives, and land use and land cover projects.
Reviews
“Working with Jordan was a creative collaboration that transformed my abstract ideas into accessible maps. I know who I’ll work with for my next project.”
— Dr. Dawn Marsh, Associate Professor, Department of History, Purdue University
“We hired Jordan to develop and analyze a survey about gender, equity, and inclusion in our organization. He was professional, timely, responsive, and above all he did great work. I can't recommend him enough!”
— Brien Beidler, Vice President of the Guild of Book Workers
“Jordan worked with me to identify the best way to visualize the story my research tells in map form. I couldn’t be happier with the end product as it brings the numbers to life and underscores the spatial patterns in my findings. He went above and beyond creating maps that fit my needs and also talked me through the tradeoffs of different ways of visualizing the data.”
— Dr. Emma McDonell, Assistant Professor, Department of Social, Cultural, and Justice Studies, University of Tennessee - Chattanooga
